The Perak DAP has questioned the motive behind the police reports lodged against Taiping MP Nga Kor Ming for uttering Quranic verses.
Its publicity secretary Wong Kah Woh said from his understanding of Islam and the Quran, it was never intended to stop someone from uttering or invoking its teachings.
Citing his student days at the International Islamic Universiti as an example, Wong said that as a law student, he was required to take up Islamic Law and Islamic Studies courses.
